Malangatana Valente Ngwenya
Malangatana Valente Ngwenya a was a Mozambique painter and poet. He was known as "one of Africa's greatest contemporary artists". Unfortunately he only lived to the age of 74. The work he illustrated was that of the Mozambican history. Not only was his art work great art but it also told a story.
"Dias describes the renowned artist as "the father of Mozambican art", influencing practically every local artist who came after him with his "ethnic impressionism". Malangatana Valente Ngwenya earned a good name in Mozambique not only for his art work and poetry but also as a supporter in Mozambique's independence struggle. A great person who has left memorial art work, poetry and legacy in mozanbique after his passing. He will never be forgotten. Mozambique has many other talents of phenomenal people Malangatana Valente Ngwenya is just one of them.
